Randy James
We are proud to welcome Randy James to the PR Celebrity family.
Randy James began his acting career on the Chanticleer theater scene in 1978, playing the disturbed boy in “Equus.”, after doing numerous play at Omaha’s Norton Theatre, including “Each of These Landlords”,” Two Gentlemen of Verona”, “The Miser”, and “Lady from the Sea”. He also played Lysander in the first Shakespeare on the Green production of “Mid-Summer Night’s Dream”. From there, he participated in the first Season of Omaha’s Upstairs Dinner Theater production of “Sunday In New York.” Two years later (1980) he was invited back from L.A. to that theater as the young lead in “Tribute” along with Norm Filbert.
Moving to Los Angeles in 1979, he immediately became involved in local theater, designing the sound for the David James November production of the Los Angeles Revival of “Hair”.
Then in 1988 began doing background extra work in film and TV, being featured in such shows as “Hunter”, When Harry Met Sally…, The Hunt for Red October, “Cheers”, and Star Trek: The Next Generation as well as Star Trek Generations and Star Trek First Contact. In 1993, he signed on with the spin-off Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and was employed there through its entire seven year run, as a full time stand in and occasional, on camera, supporting character as Starfleet Security. He had speaking parts in 3 episodes: “Dramatis Personae”, “Time’s Orphan”, and “Chrysalis”. Well known for portraying the background character Lieutenant Jones on both series, James also worked as first unit stand-in and photo double for Colm Meaney besides standing-in for several guest actors.
Since then, he was a stand in on TV’s Roswell (1999), “Baby Bob” and has done background work on “ER” and “Scrubs” In 2005, he completed standing in on the film The Dying Gaul (2005). James took a small hiatus from the industry to focus on professional development and as of 2022 is in the process of revitalizing his career under the guidance of a celebrity agency identified as PRCelebrity.com
